Get Codecs Pack

Ever been disappointed when you weren’t able to play your favorite movie on your PC or listen to the latest album of your favorite artist?

That was the case with me when I tried to play a movie which was in .mkv(matroska video) format. I hadn’t had any introduction with this format before, and whatever movies that I watched were in my favorite – XviD Codec :) I tried WMP11 & GOM Player, they both failed to play this. GOM Player was showing some lines of some code in the title which made me think that the video file was corrupted. But just after a google, I found that the codec required to play that file isn’t available on the PC…

I didn’t want to install any other soft for playing that file & I was really happy with GOM Player in all aspects. Just after a bit more googling, I found a Codec pack which also included the .mkv codec that I wanted :D

WGA or Windows Genuine Advantage tool is a tool provided my Microsoft to check whether you have an original Windows running on your PC or a pirated/counterfeited Windows…it is mandatory to install this tool when downloading something from the Microsoft Download Center.

It becomes real trouble if somehow you get this tool installed on your PC and then you come to know that your Windows is pirated (or you should have already been knowing it :P ) & there’s no way to get this tool out of the screen!

Here’s a simple tool which I used to remove the WGA Tool & it worked good for me :)

Note: Vista users, while running it please right-click at the application and choose “Run as Administrator..”

Time for some fun…

I came across a wonderful hacking game some days ago, thought to share it with you all today.

The game’s name is “Hacker Evolution”, it is a console oriented simulator game for hackers. Its a really nice game which makes the player feel like he’s hacking in real, but its just a game so the player isn’t doing any real hacking and he’s not doing a crime too :P

The advantage of playing “Hacker Evolution” is that the player comes to know how hacking is carried out and what procedures are taken by the real hackers (nothing unethical in my mind right now). :)
It also helps the player to gain knowledge in the field of hacking.

The game has nothing to do with the real world…whatever hacking is carried out, is done in the virtual world.
